Friendliest: Bub Galante

By Kirsten May

Corey “Bub” Galante is more than a pretty face. Many have described him as; goofy, helpful, dependable and positive. “Bub” uses his positive energy and athleticism to help others.

“Bub” coaches Little Green football (a youth football program) and he acts as a mentor in the Special Olympics and Unified Sports program.

“Corey is one of the role models for everybody in the class. He is helpful, caring and respectful. If someone is off task he reminds them to change their action to make them better,” says MJ Hippern, a physical education teacher and the Unified Sports teacher at DHS.

For “Bub” it is not about the recognition it’s about making people feel confident within themselves. “It’s great to see people happy and to make them feel good about themselves and accepted,” says “Bub”.

“The best thing about him is he’s thoughtful. “Bub” always sees the good in people; you could be the meanest person but he could still find something positive to say about them,” says Matt Dow, a DHS senior.

“Bub” hopes “people remember him in a positive way and have good memories.”

After graduation “Bub” will attend Southern New Hampshire University majoring in Sports Management.
